One of his boots is already drowning in a pool of mud behind him, the other barely clinging onto his foot.

The laughter still lingering in his ears.. burrowing deeper and deeper into his mind like a razor sharp cocroach.

Lucen never stood a chance. Not with the hastily collected branch, snapped from a nearby tree. It picked him up of the ground, and it started tearing him, limb from limb. Every part of him scattered across the clearing. Blood spraying in everywhich direction, covering both the trees and himself.

But he could do nothing but lay still, unable to move any muscle in his body, resigning himself to what would hopefully be a swift death. He laid there, in the soft, comforting grass, crawled up like an infant in the womb.

It took what felt like ages to finally open his eyes.

He saw nothing.

Lucen's body was all gone... for the shortest moment, he almost convinced himself it was just a nightmare, if only the grass around him wasn't colored dark crimson.

He slowly stood up, his eyes adjusting to the dark.

A storm was rising up.

He saw the lighting, heard the thunder, and felt the stare.

Only a single tear, he could not manage more. Only one pathetic tear rolled down his face as he watched his brother walk out of the woods.

The sound of rain falling snapped him out of his stupor, and he could finally hear the broken, cackling sound, mimicking the laughter of his brother.

Lucen was smiling.

His body did not wait. Pure, distiled instinct overcame his limbs and his feet took flight.
